Danum School Leger Way Library, Wednesday 28th January 2009. Students all members of the KS3 Final Chapter Reading and Writing Club.
A body outline has appeared, with clues all around… but no body. So… who has been MURDERED and who, or what, is responsible… Led by Ms Lesley Hurworth the detectives of Danum School are about to find out…
The detecting procedure can be seen in the photo gallery on the right.
Murder in the Library was good because the end involved all the characters and you would never have guessed who were the victim and the murderer and how it turned out. The clues were really good but it was quite hard to connect them together and find out what happened. It was also hard because some people thought that some of the clues were just to distract them.

Today we did an investigation in the library about a murder that happened. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait until next time. I am really looking forward to it. I learnt about how the Police investigate crimes scenes, it was fabulous.
— Thomas, Year 8
Murder in the library was great because it helped everyone who participated to learn more about CSI. It also helped us to communicate with everybody better, I would give it a fantastic 8/10!

The boys who were picking on the cats were actually Goblins that wanted to steal all the animals shadows especially sheep shadows. The Goblins saw a girl walking to a fancy dress party in a tutu with a dog. The Goblins were chasing the dog and the girl to steal their shadows while Ramzi and Lionel were drinking in the playground. Doctor Who and Martha were trying to catch the Goblins but the Goblins went to Danum Library and tied the girl to the chair with the Dog Lead. The Doctor and Martha came in and pulled the chair away from the Goblins which left Marks. Jackson Jones was trying to investigate and then the Goblins tied him to a chair and killed him. The Goblins took him away to steal his shadow and then the Doctor and Martha followed. The Goblins left behind the slime. Jackson was killed by being hit in the leg by a loo plunger making him stumble, and then was stabbed in the knee.
Victim = Jackson Jones, Murderers = The Shadow Goblins.
Team Sherlock Homes
Cecily saw the sheep and was scared and ran across the school grounds. Mr Munro made friends with a sheep, Mr Munro went to check she was okay. The Shadow Goblins stole the sheep’s shadow while Mr Munro was gone. The sheep then told Mr Munro and he told Ottoline who hired (?) George and Cosmos the Computer to organise killing the Shadow Goblins. George went with Ramsay to kill the Shadow Goblins as Ramsay had experience in killing, but the Shadow Goblins were well defended and beat Ramsay to death with a toilet brush and stabbed him in his thigh with a pirate sword. George and his pig ran away to a taxi to get away from the scene of the crime, but couldn’t get in because the taxi man refused to allow the pig into the taxi. The powder on the floor was Ramsey’s cocaine to relieve him of stress. The sheep ran away then, and its dog head came off and the Lollipop man found it. The vending machine, Barbara, came with Doctor Who in his Tardis to teach at the school. The White Van Man was offering a reward to the Lollipop Man for finding his lost sheep. The tutu belonged to the daughter of the Van Man and she had dropped it on the floor which at the computer in the library, and it was snagged on a chair.
Victim = Ramsay. Murderers = The Shadow Goblins Stinglips and Pungent.

The Doctor and Superloo are having a race back to get the book on Ponies. As they’ve got time travel they take it our in July 2009. At this time the Shadow Goblins swapped a sheep shadow with Cecily’s Pony’s shadow and wrote it down in a trail saying ‘sheep shadow stolen’. Then Cecily finds out that the shadow has been stolen so she chases after the Shadow Goblins. Then the Doctor was too late and Queen Victoria dropped her dagger and goes back in the Tardis. Then Finn comes out of Superloo and notices that Cecily has seen them time travel. He stabs her and she falls to the ground. Then the Pony puts it’s hooves against the floor making the powder lines. Then it trots off and Finn takes the book that was never returned and leaves. The Mr Munroe and the Pony are spotted running away from the scene, but earlier Cecily was also battered in the leg with a loo brush from the Superloo.
Victim = Cecily, Murderer = Finn.
Team Crime Scene Investigators
Cecily was chased by Mr Munroe to be killed by Stinglips and Pungent. Finn and Superloo helped Stinglips and Pungent because Catherine Wheel in the witness statements remembers a girl getting off a bus outside, with a book of a Pony Care in her hand (Cecily because she has a pet Pony). This was dropped as the girl ran through the school grounds pursued by a strange hairy animal, Mr Munroe, because he’s the only one who fits the description and he’s never liked Cecily in the first pace. They were closely followed by what looked like someone on Fancy Dress (Stinglips and Pungent in their capes) and they’re not human, they’re Goblins, possibly a Hallowe’en costume. The victim was wearing high heels. The finger prints on the loo brush are the same as the finger prints on the dagger so Finn and Superloo had something to do with the Murder.
Team The Crime Solvers
Cecily was walking to school, Ottoline made Mr Munroe follow Cecily because she had a grudge against Cecily and sent Mr Munroe to keep an eye on her. Then the Goblins followed her into the library where Miss [Hurworth] greeted them and proceeded in stabbing Cecily in the hip, which killed her. An angry sheep followed the Goblins because they had stolen its shadow and walked through Cecily’s blood on the floor. The Miss quickly dragged Cecily’s dead body away to cover the evidence and told us that SOCOs took it to prove her innocence.
Victim = Cecily, Murderer = Miss!
