The demand for our annual "Murder in the Library" sessions that run with the announcement of the Doncaster Book Award shortlist was so intense this year that for the first time we held "Murder on Tour"
Over the course of the week commencing January 25th the touring forensic fabulousness visited Armthorpe School with Don Valley High School, Southfield and Tranmoor Primaries in attendance, Danum School, Branton Primary School, Mexborough School and Hallcross Lower School, as well as Hexthorpe Primary School, Ridgewood School, St Peter’s Catholic Primary School and De Warenne Academy.
Some fabulous crime reports were created as well as imaginative stories and forensic results.

Report compiled by: Abi H, Lisa S, Shannon R, Emily L and Melissa R
DATE: 27/1/2010
TIME: 10:58
LOCATION: Mexborough School Library
DESCRIPTION: Murder
VICTIM: Beauty (Cookie)
EYEWITNESSES: None
SUSPECTS: Ants
DETAILS:
Beauty was killed by the ants from Colony. She had invited friends to a sleepover in the library. This explains the cookies and the cookie dough cutter which were found at the crime scene. A soft penguin toy was also found, probably left by Beauty as she prepared for her sleepover. Investigators also found a snow-globe, which matches the circular bruises on Beauty’s body, so it could have possibly been used as a murder weapon. There was a dagger that was also discovered near the crime scene, and could have also been used as a weapon, as blood was found near the victim, but had to have been shed by the suspect, as the victim showed no signs of injury other than bruises and insect bites. The snow-globe could possibly have been bought off of Mr Grey. No fingerprints were found at the scene which indicates that ants could have taken a role in the killing of Beauty, and the snow-globe most definitely cased the bruises.
Young Ruby could only invite 3 people to her Celt themed sleepover this weekend. She invited Lauren, Hannah and Yasmine. Her parents were annoyed with her because she didn’t want her to go to her father’s boss’s barbeque, and his boss would have given him a promotion for being family orientated. As an act of revenge her parents gave her real daggers instead of fake decorations. They couldn’t carry out the murder themselves as it would look too suspicious as they would be named as the obvious suspects. So they enlisted the help Hannah, Yasmine and Lauren. They arranged a hide away for them on the island of kirkfallen, where they had relatives, who had lent some Celtic torture instruments (Shot puts) to beat her senseless before slicing the young girls innocent waist.
