Callum from Year 7, Ridgewood School:

This book is about a girl called Jessica. She has accidently
swapped worlds with her double and if they don't swap back it
could be the end of both worlds.
I liked the bit where she swapped places again.
My favorite charactor was Jess because she was put through a
lot and got though it with only a few tears.
I disliked the begining because it was so confusing.
I would recomend this to people who like romance

Abie from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:

I really enjoyed the mysterious beginning of the book when
Jessica goes to meet the other Jessica at the train station. I
liked it when the mum was being suspicious about msn. It was
o.k overall and i thought it reminded me of my mum by also
popping in when i'm on msn. I felt I connected with that
character.

Hannah from Year 9, McAuley Catholic High School:

I thought that Shadow Web was quite good, but it got a bit
boring in some parts. The book started off really good and I
liked the end, but some parts in the middle were a bit hard to
follow and I didn't really like it that much. But overall, I
thought it was good, so I gave it seven out of ten.

Hollie from Year 9, Danum School Technology College:

I'm not too sure whether I like this book or not. There are
some elements in it that make me think it could be a work or
literary genius, but it has other traits that make it, to be
frank, a bit rubbish. I think some of the descriptions are very
good-description can make or break a story in my opinion, and I
think the words chosen by the author for the most part of this
book were both effective and well-placed. But sometimes, they
weren't. For the most part, the girl, Jess, in the story, seems
to be thinking, speaking and acting in a way that seemed
appropriate for the past time-zone she was in. But
occasionally, she slipped back in to modern ways of thinking.
This would have been fine-if it had been carried on throughout
the whole of the book-but it wasn't. And that disappointed me
slightly. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the story.
Sometimes it made me laugh, sometimes it made me sad, sometimes
I found it quite disturbing. But it was good, and I think it
has a good chance of making it into this years shortlist! ;-)

Lauren from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:

After reading the reviews already about Shadow Web they're all
positive and I'm afraid to say that I didn't like it a lot. It
was quite boring. In some parts it was like'Oh gosh what's
going to happen to this' but then I thought 'and what did that
to do with anything?'

Sorry but only 4

I found this book hard to get into and a very confusing read. I
would reccomend this book for people who like adventur books

Jessica S from Year 8, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:

I really loved this book. It is about a girl called Jess
Allendon and she meets this other girl who looks exactly like
her and has the same name. When they shake hands their worlds
switch over. The first Jess sort of goes back in time but the
date is still 2008. Everyone is dressed in old fashioned
clothes and the buildings are all different. Jess has to fit
into the other Jess's world as she can't get back to her own.

This book made me feel really upset and scared for Jess and it
really seemed to tune in with my emotions.

My favourite character would of course be Jess but I thought
she was a bit clumsy and thick as she didnt catch onto things
as quickly. I really liked Johnny although he was scarey at the
start because you couldnt tell if he was on Jessica's side or
not. I hated James and the way he treated Jess and it surprised
me near the end because you find out that he has been on Jess's
side all along.

Anyway I thought this was a fantastic book and would gladly
read it again anytime. I wouldnt recomend this book to younger
readers as it is rude in some parts but I would definatly
reccomend it to anyone else!!.

Nicola from Year 8, Rossington All Saints School:

This book had a good storyline but was hard to follow. I would
reccomend it to older children and teenagers beacuse of this
reason.

Kyle from Year 10, Ridgewood School:

This book was a good look into a weird world and was something
I quite enjoyed to read. Not what I was expecting at all.

Laura from Year 7, Ridgewood School:

A very interesting book my favourite character is Jess
because I like it when the two worlds are switched and Jessica
goes to an old fashioned world.
