Natasha from Year 9, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:

I found Iron Hand very boring. The first three pages were
about a boy called George and Eddie who are on the run with a
Gunner. I liked the part where they explain their powers -
like it identifies George as a 'maker', someone with a special
gift for sculpting things from stone or metal.
The start of Chapter 3 was good - Something was wrong! The
raven felt it in it's bones and feathers as it over-flew the
green space of Regent's Park.
Unfortunately I found this book very boring!

Callum from Year 7, Ridgewood School:

George and Edie have to try and save the Guner, But it's hard
to do that when they don't have a clue where he is and they
have the Walker hot on there trail.
I liked it when Edie came back to life and when George
battered the Walker.
I liked Spout the best because he can fly and is the only
creature that turns good, after being evil.
It was a little bit boring at the beginning.
It is a very thick book for people who like thick books and
it is also a good adventure book and will get you captured into
reading it more.

Josh from Year 6, Tranmoor Primary School:

I think I should say this book is absolutely brilliant. This
book is COOL. I like this book because of the way he puts
powers into it. Well done Charlie Fletcher.

Jake from Year 8, Danum School Technology College:

I liked this book because it was quite true and had action type
bits and I like action stories I thought that the plot was not
that good but after the book got going after a few chapters I
liked it a lot. I would rate this book because of the plot and
the fact that it was not on the lines and after a while you got
lost and did not know where the book was going. Overall it was
an ok read and I would think it will not get to the short list
because of these reasons.

Jordan from Year 6, Mallard Primary School:

Iron hand is a good book to read because at one minute it is a
bit boring then it goes on to something really exciting. And
its a Really good book to read if anybody is intrested.

Mary from Year 9:

Wow. Just wow.

I read Stoneheart first, then desperately searched for Iron
Hand, wanting to read on as soon as I could.

I absolutely love how this story is more original than a lot of
others I've read, and I especially love the Gunner.

The part that touched me the most, though, was when Charlie
took the Gunner's place, and saw his father during it...it
brought tears to my eyes. Any book that can bring me to
emotion, I mark it as an extraordinary book, because it stirs
up something in me something that many other books can't.

This book and its prequel are on my must-read list for anyone,
no matter what age, and I'm delighted to say so.

Paige from Year 6, Sunnyfields Primary School:

It is about one girl and one boy who go out at night and all
the statues come alive. A cloud entraps them and the main
character is the gun-runner.
I would recommend this book to everyone!

I think Iron Hand is a quite gripping book.I like the part
where George makes a promise and he is unaware that there is a
gargolye lurking on the rooftops waiting hungrily to pounce on
top of George. I rate this book as 10 out of 10.

This book is an enthralling page turner and the author has not
been given the respect he deserves from some previous
reveiws. The story is based about George and Edie. Both have
super natural powers. They must rescue their friend the Gunner
from the clutches of the evil Walker.

But what is the purpose of the dark mirrors in the Walkers evil
plot?

And who (or what) is pursuing Eidie and George?

For all these answer and more read Iorn hand now!!!!!!
