Hannah from Year 11, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
Peter the Penguin Pioneer by Daren King was a good book even
though i think it is aimed at younger children than me. However
it connected with my inner child and i found a lot of it funny
even though it was repeatitve and not much happened!!
shanieka from Year 6, Hayfield Lane Primary School:
i really like the way they illustrated the book and it is a
really good and fun book to read.
Clayton from Year 8, Ridgewood School:
I though the story line was funny but a little boring. The
actual penguin's personalities are amazing and great.
Laura from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This is a very funny book about a penguin called Punky who
works for Peter, a penguin pioneer, or so the others think. He
does travel around but knows nothing about the world outside
the ice! One day he finds out there are intruders with them.
My favourite character is Punky - he's so cool! I like him
because he's the reason they notice the intruders and he's a
very funny penguin. The main reason I like the book is because
its so funny. I like it all there's nothing I don't like about
it. I would recommend it to Year 7's because they might be
very upset and it will cheer them up!
Zack from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
Peter the Penquin Pioneer is a hilarious book. It's childish
humour is so funny my ribs started to hurt, because I was
laughing so much. The book is about two penquins, Peter and
Punky. Peter is recognized as a really important penquin,
however he is really not that clever. His sidekick, Punky is
reffered to as dumb, but Punky is actually smarter than Peter.
They go exploring together and in the book they have just
arrived from the jungle. One penquin thinks that Peter is a
fraud. Not only that but there are 20 more penquins than there
was the last time they had visited their cold home...
This story is a very childish humour story, even though this is
way too young for me, I really enjoyed this spectacular book.
Ruby from Year 6, Saltersgate Primary School:
This is a brilliant book, it is about peter the penguin
pioneer. It is exciting and is an adventurous story, because of
all the fun things he does. My favourite character is Punky, he
always has good ideas and is very funny. What I disliked this
book was nothing it was so good. I recommend this book because
it was a easy quick read, it is a great book if you like
adventurous and silly books.
Kiara from Year 8, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
Fresh from the jungle trip, Peter, his exuberant assistant Punky
and their friend Harold discover their beloved ice-skating rink
has been over-populated with some dubious-looking penguins.
Determined to weasle them out and return their rink to it's
former glory, Peter and Punky embark on a adventure involving
flying fish, silly snowmen, angry polar bears and a bunch of
very sneaky squirrels.
Joshua from Year 6, Sunnyfields Primary School:
I thought that peter the penguin pioneer was extremely funny. I
love the bit where the squirrel comes and they call it a
squiggle. I also love the bit where they are in the igloo and
they think that an umbrella is an elephants trunk and a trainer
is a parrot and when they think that a wooly jumper is the fur
of a tiger. I thought it was a fantastic and really funny story
that's why i'm giving it 10/10!!!!
Charlotte from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:
This book is great! When I first got the book I didn't want to
put it down and before I knew it I had read it in two days! You
need to get this book it is fantastic. You will not want to put
it down at all.
The book is all about three penguins that need to find a lot
wich is 20 imposters because the skating rink is crouded and
there is only meant to be 20 penguins, but there is 40 penguins.
Peter therefore needs to find ways of what penguins can do and
what they can't do to find the impostersbecause they will not
do the same as them.
Later on through the book they find all of the 20 imposters.
They turn out to be squiggles wich we call squirells.
This book will make you laugh your socks of and you will not
want to put it down at all.
you have to read this fabulous, wonderful, marvellous book.
Get down to the book shops and buy it, it is wonderful!
reece from Year 5, Balby Street Primary School:
this book was rubbish for me i hated it
Daniel from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:
This book was the greatest book ever (that included
pengiun pioneers).I found it funny when the book was asking you
if you were a pengiun or not. If you wasn't a penguin (which is
simple because your not...I hope)it forced you to put the book
down and read something different.
Well, the story is about a penguin pioneer which went into
a strange rainforest and came back.Well Peter (the penguin
pioneer)was a liar. The truth is that he isn't a pioneer, but
he still is a penguin.
Peter is joined by Pucky the penguin who tells the
story. Also by Harold a more wise, clever penguin who knows more
about the human life.
As I was saying Harold goes to Peter's house where Peter
has a wall stuffed with his so great things (only kidding) for
example a tiger's tail.Which is really a stick.
So everything is normal, but some imposters come which are
squirrels (but Peter calls them sqigges)and they has to sort
them out with funny plans. Like the Bear Hug and the Flagpole
Scamper and much more.
See what things also happen when you read "Peter the
Penguin Pioneer".
from Year 5, Adwick Park Junior School:
Peter was a very good book it was very funny and exiting and
very silly and a bit weird and funky because the penguins
really thought that the penguin had been to all of these places
that he got things from and and he had them for presents and he
thought he was a real pioneer and others knew he was faking and
he asked them not to tell the other penguins.
Connor from Year 7, De Warenne Academy:
The book was a really good adventure bookand i would suggest
this book to any ages between 5-13 years old but this book is
suitable for any ages. I really did enjoy this adventure book
well done Darren King.
Sarah from Year 6, Hatchell Wood Primary School:
"Ice cool"
I gave this book a rating of 8 out of 10 because although it is
funny, and a feel good book, I would have liked to see more
action and suspense, to make it more of a page turner. I wasn't
exactly super-glued to it all the time. However I would
recommend it to a younger age group.
Chloe from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
I thought the book was ok. The book is more for younger
readers, i would say now i've finshed the book. Younger readers
will enjoy it more because it is easy to read and a adventure.
I gave this book 5 out of 10 because it was a bit to easy for
me and not the story type i like, but it would still be i good
choice of book for younger readers.
Joshua from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
This is a ridiculous book and if you are not a baby you should
not be reading this book.
How did this get into book awards I ask. You must be insane to
read this so all intelligent people who know that they are not
babies.......
DO NOT READ THIS BOOK ANYONE
Megan from Year 6, Owston Primary School:
This Book, Was fun, exciting and an adventure!
Most People will love this book I'd recommend it to anyone!
There's a problem with the ice skating rink they think its
shrunk but it hasn't there is 20 imposters, so they plot some
plans. They figure out the imposter penguins are squiggles
(squirrels)
I would recommend this book to any age.
Abbi-mae from Year 6, Owston Primary School:
This book is very exciting and funny!
The penguins have an problem their skating rink is shrinking
well actually theirs 20 imposters(sqiggles).
Peter, Punky and Harold have to come up with ideas to get rid
of the imposters like:
Fish beak catch,
Hazelnut glance,
Polar bear hug,
Flagpole scamper,
and silly snowman.
Lauren from Year 5, Owston Primary School:
I was so interessted when I first started reading this book I
started to giggle, my mum asked what I was giggling about,I
just said nothing but acctuly she knew i was giggling about
something.
Keeley from Year 8, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This book is about three penguins called Peter, Harold and
Punky. Peter travels around with Punky in his aeroplane, going
around the world and collecting items. When they find there
are too many penguins on their ice rink, they think some are
imposters so they arrange four tests. If you want to know what
they are and if they work you have to read it. The story has a
great ending. I think its suitable for up to year 7 and 8.
This was a great book.
Tammy from Year 6, Owston Primary School:
I was so excited when I first started reading this because it
was so funny to read and i would recommend it to anybody.

Vicki from Year 10, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
Wow. This book was definitely for people younger than me but
funnily enough I thought it was quite a good book. It got very
repetitive though, this book is all about a penguin called
Peter who is a pioneer and his sidekick Punky who I thought
came up with some strange ideas. I did enjoy this book but
because of the fact that it got repetitive and that it was not
a book I would read again as it was too simple, for that reason
I gave it a 7 out of 10.

Thomas from Year 6, Hatchell Wood Primary School:
Peter the penguin pioneer was quite funny because the squirrels
were so obviously not penguins. It wasn't my favourait book
because it kept on repeating its self.I recomend that younger
children read it. 8 out of 10.
Lucy from Year 6, Hatchell Wood Primary School:
Peter the penguin pioneer is an odd sort of book.
"Ice cool !"
This book always says weird stuff like "Thawed out! and
"Ice cool!"
This book has a bit of a simple story and is probably aimed at
younger children. All the penguins do is try and unmask the
imposters. The imposters are squirrels dressed up as penguins.
They are only dressed up so that they can ice skate on the ice
rink. The story is not as good as I expected it to be but I
still rate it a 9.
"Ice cool !"
Courtney from Year 8, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:

The Penguin told another penguin that he would slap them with
his flippers.
I liked the book because it was funny and intresting.
ryan from Year 7, De Warenne Academy:
I think it was realy good becauise it was verry good because
they made me laugh and they made me read the funny bits again
and again ...
Callum from Year 8, Adwick Park Junior School:
This childrens story is absolutly no good to older readers if
you rent t out you should give it to your younger brothers or
sisters to read it as they will apreciate it alot more. It is
an adventure of a lying pioneer and its very gullable but
truthful side kick.
Amelia from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
I thought this book was very exciting and is a good book to
read to children. I red it to my little sister twice and she
didn't get bored once.
yasmin from Year 6, Hatfield Manor Junior School:
This book was funny at times, but overall the book was really
based for the younger children. My favourite character in Peter
The Penguin Pioneer was Punky; Punky was Peters (the pioneers)
assistant. He was sliding all over the place all of the time. I
would recommend this to every one.
courtney from Year 7, Rossington All Saints School:
I found peter the penguin the pioneer ,very intresting and
funny because he found some thing very strange
about the other penguins ,because they were wearing mask beaks
and they weren't penguins they were squirrels ,dressed as
penguins .
Abigail from Year 6, Hatchell Wood Primary School:
I really enjoyed this book. I give Peter the Penguin Pioneer a
10 because I think it's very funny in parts. For example right
at the beginning it says sonething about "If your not a
penguin, stop reading or i'll slap you with flippers!"
Callum B from Year 6, Montagu School, Mexborough:
This book is the type of book that when you see the front cover
it looks silly but when you get in to the book and start to
read it, it gets so intresting.
Cara from Year 6, Montagu School, Mexborough:
This was a really funny book. It was great! First of all peter
the penguin pioneer and punky come back from the jungle and try
to explain some unusual gifts and sadly they get it all wrong.
Then they find out that the skating rink is too full and peter
thinks they have IMPOSTERS! Laterr on they do tests on all
penguins to see how many imposters there is. Peter asks Denise,
a polar bear, and all her friends to help them to test the
penguins. Soon they found out that the imposters were squirrels
in disguise!
megan from Year 5, Owston Primary School:
i liked this book but it was hard to get in to though, its a bit
boring and not good at all i didnt really like it all ,some of
it was really funny but if your like me dont read it
Jack from Year 6, Kingfisher Primary School:
My first impressions of this book were that is extremely funny
and interesting, I think both young and older people would
think this.
The best part of this book is when one of the amazing
characters can't count his flippers!
The worst part is when the characters return from the jungle
because it is a bit boring.
Overall, this is the most amazing book I have ever read!
will from Year 5, Owston Primary School:
this book was a bit funny but childish and i dont like penguins
to much.
tyler from Year 5, Owston Primary School:
this book is one of the best books that i have read so far
because i think that peter the penguin is the best.
Joe from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This book is about a penguin called Peter who is trying to
discover why the skating rink in shrinking. He thinks there
are some penguin imposters and he sets about trying to find
them. I find this a little repetitive but very funny. One of
the funniest bits is when the book keeps saying 'This book is
for penguins only. Stop reading now or I'll slap you with my
flippers. It has a good story which is easy to read and very
hard to put down once you start reading. I was laughing out
loud while reading this book and I would recommend it to
anyone, it is very funny. My favourite character was Peter's
assistant, Punky. He was very funny and kept doing silly
things throughout the book. The only thing I disliked about
the book was it kept sayign the same joke too often in the
first chapter but then it spaced it out well. Overall I would
give this book 8 out of 10 as it is very funny.
Sasha from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
Peter and Harold are penguins. One day when they are
shovelling snow, Harold hits a bear. The bear is angry and
tries to eat Harold but he runs away. Peter tries to calm the
bear down because Harold is his mate.
What I liked most was when the bear was sleeping on the ice and
got a shock which woke him up. My favourite character was
Harold and the story was mostly about him. I didn't like when
the bear threatened Harold because it was a bit scarey. I
would recomend theis book because young children like animals
and penguins and the pictures made the story interesting.
Kash from Year 6, Hatchell Wood Primary School:
This book was so stupid, it was the worst book I have ever
read. It is for babies. I thought it will be good, I was
looking forward to it since some other people who have read
this book said it was funny and overall it was a good book. In
the book there were twenty real penguins and twenty squirrels
who disguised as penguins. Throughout the whole book peter and
harold were trying to make these operations to catch the
squirrels. The stupid thing about this book is it keeps on
saying if you are not a penguin stop reading this book and it
say squiggels instead of squirrels, no offence to Daren King
but if he thinks that is funny, he is a total DOUGHNUT.
I gave this book a four out of ten because of the stupid stuff
in it, I know it's meant to be a funny book but this book
didn't even make me laugh a bit. The only good thing about it
was it was really short and easy to read, compared to the other
books.
If you are reading this book just for fun and you find it
boring you might as well give up because it doesn't get any
better at the end. If you are reading this book for the club
you could just read all of it as it is a short book.
hope u liked it, look out 4 some more of my reviews!!
Abby from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This book was about a penguin called Peter, his acomplice Pinky
and Harold trying to figure out why the shating rink is
shrinking. It is all about the wacky ideas they come up with
to solve the problem.
I liked most of it because it is funny and very strange. I
wouldn't normally pick up a book like this. but I enjoyed it.
My favourite character is Denise because she has no idea what
the penguins are on about but goes along with it for good.
I didn't like that it didn't tell you why the imposters were
there. It also annoyed me that Punky kept saying 'ice cool'
and 'thawed out'. Plus penguins and polar bears don't live
together, one lives at the south pole and the other at the
north pole.
Still I would reccomend this book because it is very funny.
Amy-Leigh from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This book is about a penguin called Peter who is a pioneer and
his friend Punky who is telling the story of how they all try
to catch imposter penguins. My favourite character is Punky.
I liked this book because it is very funny and I would
recommend it.
charlie from Year 6, Montagu School, Mexborough:
it has a lot of good discription and it also has some funny
bits like when he finds out all about the things they find and
lie about it
Owen from Year 6, Hatfield Manor Junior School:
It is a really funny book. There were times when I found myself
laughing out loud.I would recommend it to silly people and even
people how are not silly lol.
Caitlin from Year 7, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
I like Peter the Penguin Pioneer because it was very good and
funny. What I like the most was at the start of the book where
he said if you're not a penguin dont read it. My favourite
character was Peter because he was ace, funny.
Emily from Year 6, Hatchell Wood Primary School:
I think this book was rubbish.I might have chosen it in a shop
but i wouldnt buy it for someone. If I knew what it was I
wouldnt choose it!.
If you are reading this book and you are not in book group then
dont.
I just chose this book so I could read it straight away and so
I could get it over and done with.
Thanks for reading
Emily from Hatchell Wood Primary School
Kyle from Year 11, Ridgewood School:
This is a lovely book, especially for children of a young age.
The penguins are childishly cute, with personalities that
differ so much you'll began to question who the real hero is.
My favourite character was Punky because he was the true hero
and brought out a lot of childish fun about the story, as well
as being the only character who seemed to think things through.
I would rate this mainly to the younger kids, but also to any
of the older kids who want to relax or unwind. A nice read to
make a few giggles.
cameron from Year 6, Edenthorpe Hall Primary School:
It was funny not to long had a good story too it and was about
one of my favorite animals.
Ellie from Year 5, Edenthorpe Hall Primary School:
I think it amazing and funny. It tells you not to lie or you
will be in a terrible sittuation.I really want this book in the
short list.
morgan from Year 5, Balby Street Primary School:
This book is amazing its full of mystery and excitment, it also
makes you keep on reading and reading!
Katie from Year 6, Hatfield Manor Junior School:
I think that this book is rubbish you should never read it if
you like a good gripping, action packed book and if you want to
make a funny atmosphere and some fun this is definitely NOT
EVER the book for you.
Kyle from Year 6, Edlington Victoria Primary School:
Peter the penguin pioneer is brill.
But i have to admit it is for a starter, what i mean by a
starter is that its for someone thats starting the libary and
wants to read a lot but then may go on to the harder ones like
tunnels , the soul trade and so on.
Try it (DONT BE SHY)
Maisie from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
This is a great book, it is set in the snow and the three main
characters are 3 chirppy penguins, Punky, Peter and harold.
What follows is a hilarious adventure involving a stripy
jumper, wooden beaks, pesky squirrels, hungry polar bears, and a
penguin who is much more than he seems at first as Peter,
Punky, and Harold attempt to solve the mystery of the shrinking
ice rink.
Holly from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
Don't read this review if you're not a penguin because Peter
the Penguin Pioneer is a book to be read by penguins only !!!
I, however decided to read it for research purposes !! It tells
the tale of an intrepid pioneering penguin, Peter, and his
trusty number one fan, side-kick, Punky. They, along with
sceptical Harold are trying to solve the mystery of the
shrinking ice rink and unmask the imposter squiggles.
It's a unusual book full of 'ice cool' fun, but it wasn't
funny enough for me and I felt it was aimed at younger
children.
Abie from Year 8, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This book was ok. I thought it was quite good but I think it
was a little too childish for me. I found it a good idea when
the book was asking you if you were a pengiun or not. If you
weren't a penguin it forced you to put the book down and read
something different,that was good!!
Well, the story is about a penguin pioneer who went into a
strange rainforest and came back. Peter was lying! Actually he
isn't a pioneer but he still is a penguin of course. Peter is
joined by Pucky the penguin who cleverly tells the story. Also
by Harold a wiser penguin who is more informed about the human
life. Harold goes to Peter's house where Peter has a wall
stuffed with his so amazing things (not) for example he has a
tiger's tail, which is really a stick. So everything is normal,
but some imposters come, squirrels (but Peter calls them
sqigges not knowing what they are)and they have to sort them
out with funny plans. The author has clearly thought about his
work and checked it thoroughly! Well done Daren King!
Elinor from Year 8, Danum School Technology College:
This book was a bit too silly for my liking.
Peter is a penguin with an aeroplane, and an enjoyment of
'visiting' the jungle regularly. Soon, though, he has a more
local problem. At last belly count, there were 20 penguins in
the pack. Now there are 40! With a pack this size, the
penguins cannot all be cared for. But how could the group grow
so fast? The answer: Imposters! They need to find out who these
imposters are, where they came from, and then get rid of them!
This book is written from Punky's point of view. Punky is
Peter's personal assistant, and goes with him everywhere. Punky
is also obsessed with doing belly-slides. There are three main
characters: Peter, Punky and Harold, an older, more sceptical
penguin.
I thought that this book would be good for younger readers, but
I didn't really like it.
Holly from Year 6, Saltersgate Primary School:
Peter the peguin pioneer is a rubbish, boring and childish book.
It made no sense to me. My favourite character was Punky. I
liked this character because they sounded cute. what I dis
liked about this book was all of the book. I wouldn't
recommened this book because no-one would like not even younger
children.
Charlotte from Year 6, Owston Primary School:
This book is OK but it does get a little boring, it is also
verry random. I would recomend this book to people who like a
little commedy.
Joshua from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
Ridiculous if you read this you must be a penguin please don't
read this if you enjoy it you are wierd
Jack from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
Vote peter pengiun pioneer as winner as it is the best book
ever and im not just saying that to annoy the libarian.
Recommended for little kids and those immature ones too, Best
book ever
megan lister from Year 5, Owston Primary School:
this book is great i love it its soooo cool greatttt! read it
now i love it :-)the penguins are so big harold is the best
penguin dont argue with me
Will Calland-Brooke from Year 7, Adwick Park Junior School:
Peter the Penguin Pioneer is a fantastic book. It is a good
read for people of all ages. It isn't very detailed and is not
the best book I've read. But I will say this, it's an excellent
read and I like it. 10/10
Ellie from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
Peter The Penguin Pioneer is a pile of RUBBISH!!! it is the
worstest book in the universe, its silly nobody understands
what it is about. Everybody is ashamed about how many votes it
has in Ridgewoods Readers Group.
Shannon from Year 8, Danum School Technology College:
The book had a good story for younger readers and is quite
funny. It's not my sort of book though because not a lot
really happens that's exciting or tense. It gets a bit
repetitive but younger readers like my sister would definitely
enjoy it. Personally I don't think it should win the award
because it's not as well written as some of the other books,
but it's still a nice book to read.
Holly from Year 6, Tranmoor Primary School:
i thought this book wasn't my style and i wasn#t keen. it is
not that good.
Fiona from Year 11, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
I really really enjoyed this book. Not just because it has a
slight sense of humour, but because I'm a wierd kind of person.
I really liked how wacky the book was with it's illustrations.
Ok I get it, I mean it's aimed at a younger audience than
myself, I still enjoyed it. It was a little tedious with the
repetition of some of the attributes but I think the
illustrations, personally for me, cancelled that out.
ashleigh from Year 6, Edenthorpe Hall Primary School:
this book was a bit funny and my friend liked it too!I would
give this book a mark of 8 out of 10!
kathleen from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:
This book is a must had.It's a real page turner.It's a story
mainly about three penguins two of which are pioneers. There all
called Peter, Punky and Harold. They always go exploring and
you'll find this book a funny and thrilling tail.
Sophie from Year 8, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College:
This book is a really quick read and can be read in a space of
two days. The author tries to be funny in the book but he
didn't do that well, he kept on repeating a bad joke which made
it worse. But the story overall is quite good but next time he
should try to focus more on the story and less on the jokes
Hannah from Year 10, McAuley Catholic High School:
I didn't like this book, it was funny, but a bit childish. The
plot was kind of pointless and I didn't really understand why a
penguin went to the jungle (except that he didn't actually go
to the jungle) and then tried to chase some squirrels away,
just because they went skating. Squirrels don't skate!
Letizia from Year 11, McAuley Catholic High School:
I thought this book was quite good but it most certainly is for
younger readers. I did think it lacked in fantasy because the
only animal the author could find to disguise as penguins were
squirrel, which obviously are impossible to find in such an
environment and this might cause confusion in a child's mind!
However, I really enjoyed the fact the author keep saying "If
you're not a penguin stop reading this now", I thought that was
quite catching. Overall, I'll say I liked this book but it's
not as interesting as I thought it would be like. I'll have to
say though the cover is quite colourful! :)
Isobel from Year 9, Danum School Technology College:
Well, where to start... oh wait TOO MANY BELLYSLIDES, STOP
SLIDING YOU STUPID PENGUIN!!!
Its a nice change from all the serious books but it's too silly
and very badly written, that is why I rated it 4.
Many people told me it was terrible but I didn't believe them,
PLEASE BELIEVE ME!!!!!!!
Amy from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
I thought this book was ok but a bit boring at some parts. I
would recommend this book to people younger then myself.
Overall I gave this book a 5 because I thought it was a bit
boring and not very exciting.
Georgina from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
This book was alright but definately noit for me. I would
recommend this book for 5 year olds not for year 5-11. To be
honest i do not think this book should be in the doncaster book
award. Especially not shortlisted. Because of this i gave this
book an overall score of 4/10
Aaron from Year 8, Hatfield High School Visual Arts College:
It was enjoyable to read. The characters felt very realistic
even though they are penguins. I read this book in 2 days
because I could not put it down. It was a short book but if it
was any longer it would have gone on about nothing so I rate it
a 9.
Thomas from Year 8, Ridgewood School:
I liked this book because it was a easy read from the other
shortlist books. It was also very funny and daft which makes it
a more relaxing read with no mysteries and murders. I thought
the ideas to catch the imposters was really interesting and how
the penguin narrating it loved to belly slides and thought
certain words were types of fish.
I would give this book 10/10
Becky from Year 9, Danum School Technology College:
This book is all about penguins. It is from the point of view
of Punky the penguin. He is always mentioning his flippers and
his belly slides. I found this book enjoyable and funny.
Lisha from Year 7, Mexborough School:
This crazy adventure of a book made me laugh out loud and
giggle uncontrolably! The crazy story line never ceased to
amaze me, it consisted of Peter the penguin pioneer and his
trusty side-kick Punky.
It's action packed from beginning to end!
With the adventurers arriving back and from the battle with the
squirells!
There were multiplying penguins and squirells in disguise!
It's one of the funniest books i ever set my eyes upon ! I
would recommened this book to fun-loving person who needs a
laugh ! :D
zak from Year 8, Hatfield High School Visual Arts College:
peter the penguin pioneer is a wonderful book its all about the
penguins ice rink being overloaded and they think that there
are imposters so they think of plans to find out how like
making the imposters go up poles. one of the characters is
peter the penguin pioneer.
its an excellent childern book and i think kids will enjoy this
book
Natalie from Year 7, Ridgewood School:
I did not enjoy this book i would not recomend it. it just was
not my type. i would never read it again.
Jasmine from Year 10, Ridgewood School:
I think this book is perfect for little children but for
someone my age in my opinion it was too babyish and repetative.
I gave the book a rating of 4 out of 10 because i thought it
was funny in some ways but the overall book did not deserve any
higher.
from Year 6, Owston Primary School:
I would recomend this book to anyone who likes a laugh but this
