Eleanor from Year 9, Ridgewood School:

A family of thieves you may call it? But behold there is more facts than you think! A prison where although one person in your family may be put in prison for a criminal act because of this all the family is dumped there too? Yes – unfortunately this is the case. Let's shine a light upon Abi; the 16-year old who has to spend most of her young but frail life inside this torturous building. Her family is going through the normal procedure , but inside Abi is planning an escape to free herself from her living nightmare. When all goes to plan and finally a smile floods across her face, she realizes not all horror is lost…Abi is in for more of a roller coaster ride. I liked this book as it is extremely different to many of the DBA books I have read in the past. From reading the first couple of pages I could tell this was going to be an a thrilling plot coming on . All the turns and intriguing plots where incredible – thus all the characters were different and unique therefore easier to remember. This is a good sign in an authors' point of view as it is easier then therefore to stick with the plot and remember what has happened. Unfortunately I didn't really grip the book like I did with the rest of the DBA section as for its amount of pages and the amount going on I think it was a bit too much. If it was a smaller amount with maybe less going on I think I would of gripped; this is unusual for me as I tend you enjoy a juicy thick book. However, I felt by half way there was too much going on and sticking to the plot more would have been better. On the other hand, if you are into a crime, discoveries, twisters and a more mature plot this book is ready for you to open!
