Hannah from Year 9, The Armthorpe Academy:
From the moment I heard about this book I was really intrigued by the whole concept of the story. Itâ?™s a dystopian (ish) novel like none Iâ?™ve ever read before built on the idea of only boys being born in decades, Eve being the first girl born in fifty years and her duty to help humanity survive. I loved it! Itâ?™s written in a way that keeps you glued to the pages and the characters are written so excellently, I adore Eve and Bram! The story flows easily and has you backing good guys throughout, Iâ?™m so glad this is a trilogy because I canâ?™t wait to read more of this world and these characters! Also the ending ... was a little cliffhanger and I need to know how that turns out!
Jahawaria from Year 9, Dixons Cottingley Academy:
It was a really amazing book, and the plot was really something to think about. If women end up going extinct, I mean. It was a really interesting plot, and their characters are very likeable and unique! Favourite book from the competition and can't wait to read Eve of Man Book 2!
Atika from Year 8, Dixons Cottingley Academy:
When I read this book I have to admit I was slightly disappointed with the ending. I had hoped that Eve would have been able to be a true heroine without anyone's help, however, I did love pretty much everything else about the story.
