Daisey from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I liked this book beacause its adventurous and exciting. The
thing I liked most was when they were chasing the tiger it was
so sad but exciting . My favourite charactor was Saker because
he was so comforting on page 64. What i disliked about the
book was that I found you have to consentrate a lot which was
very hard for me. I would recomend this book to older children
and teens because you have to have your full atention on it.

I loved this book it was a right thrill . It is about saker and
sinter on a quest to save the tigers from the gong .although
Steve Backshall is a great author some parts were confusing so
i would recommend this to high school pupils .I cant wait for
the more of the falcon series .

I loved this book because Steve Backshall is on of my favourite
tv presenters but this is a different aproach of a book for
him. Considering he's a wildlife expert... The clan and the
story in genral made em feel like I was there.

I rate this book ********** out of **********

Amazing!!! Living in the jungle would have been very cool and
making wepons out of trees and other resorses + sparing and the
names such as polecat were intresting.

I found this book very difficult to read, I struggled with some
of the language in the book because I didnt understand the
meaning of a lot of the words. The story was good but it was
very hard to read. I think this book would suit an older age
group.

Bradley from Year 6, Balby Central Primary:

Tiger wars in my opinion was a very exciting and the author was
very good at describing the scene with his knowledge of the
outdoors.

This book is set in China, India and the Himalayas as the
Characters meet overs and fight overs.

To all these Characters the rather human like Tiger is the
Enemy But It all CHANGES...

2 tiger cubs and return them to the wild.

from Year 7, Ash Hill Academy:

Tiger Wars is an absolutely fantastic book, written by famous
wildlife narrator and wildlife explorer, Steve Backshall.
A teenager, named Saker, is a clan member along with the rest,
and is hunting for tigers. When he finds one, he kills it, but
feels bad, when it had two cubs. Later, he wakes up to find
he’s been drugged, and hears wolfs hunting him down. He
kidnaps a wealthy, but ill-treated girl, called Sinter, and
they stop the members from killing Saker, and save the cubs.
It was a fantastic action/adventure book to read!!!

Niamh from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:

I really liked this book, although I found it hard to get into
because I think the beginning isn't really very
attention-grabbing. Besides that, the storyline is really good.
I like the characters in it, who, at the beginning, don't
really get along, but at the end of the story they do.
I would recommend this book for animal-lovers!

Tom from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:

I would recommend this book for children aged 10+ as you need
to give it all your attention. The story-board is good but
quite difficult to understand.
However, I enjoyed reading it and couldn't put it down at
times!

like I was there. This book gives informayion and makes the
reader interested.I want to give my thanks to Steve Backshall
because If It wasn't for him I would be bored all the time.

I rate this book 10 out 10.

marcus from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:

I enjoyed it on the whole although I found it hard to keep
reading on. Also, at the beginning it was hard to tell if
'wolf' was a human or a tiger. Despite having a tiny piece of
confusion at the start I still loved it. One of the best books
I've ever read that can be full of tension in some parts and
relaxed in others. All in all a great read!

Tiger Wars
By Steve Backshall
This book is really interesting it had all the facts and it was
interesting to hear about all his journey it was fantastic. I
would suggest this book to anyone who loves animals and the
great outdoors, or someone who just loves adventure.
Once I read this book I want to go on the journeys and I want
to meet the animals too. It makes you want to go on that
adventure with him and be there with him. I would rate it a
8/10 because it got my attention but it was boring in the very
beginning of the book.
I would suggest this book to someone who loves animals and
someone who loves the total outdoors. It is amazing in child
wise I would say 7+ because it has got some really hard words
actually in the book.

Confusing at first but turns out to be a heart warming story of
2 friends that were brought together by sheer luck. I never
reallly imagined Steve Backshall to write i always expected him
to be an adventurer not really an auther can't wait for the
rest of the falcon series.

A thrilling book with plenty of action and a long time of
adventure, with the main characters trying to save the
endangerd tigers of India. Perfect description about the scene
and characters giving a detailed description. a adventorous
book with lots of fun and bravery. We would recomend this book
to people who like adventures. 10 out of 10

Daniel from Year 6, Norton Junior School:

I really enjoyed this book because its was long, easy to follow
and its about a very endangered animal, the tiger. The most
boring bit that I found was when it gave you some backgorund
information of Saker. The charater i liked the most was Saker
because he was fast, cunning, strong and most of all brave. The
best part for me was when saker made a blow pipe out of bamboo
and a plant and then shot it to his backpack (full of water). My
overall throughts are that its fast paced , thrilling adventure
book. 10 out 10 for this book because it really touched my
heart. P.S good job Steve Backshall

I didnt really like this book because it wasnt really that
intresting and I found it a bit boring .
Some parts were a little amazing but the whole book was a litte
boring and dragged on a bit. This book would be good for
adventuous people and people who love animals, but it wasnt
for me.

Leesha from Year 7, Ridgewood School:

I thought this book was interesting but somehow I didn't really
think it was my sort of book. Because it is by a TV presenter
that knows most facts about most animals (Steve Backshall,
Deadly 60, CBBC & ITV1) it had some hidden facts about tigers
in it. I would recommend this book to mainly boys who like
animals and adventure and aged about 9-10+. This is a nice book
that many children and adults will love and adore and tell
their friends and family about it! Even thought this book is
popular now, i think that it will become even more popular in
times to come!
