Brittany from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

THe Chitty Chitty Bang Bang book is different to normal, it is
extraordinary and whacky. It starts wih a normal family in a
normal street where its always quiet. It isn't just that a
normal family family helps each other and then lives happily
ever after, wrong! wrong! This family has a magical van that
they have no control over, so they have adventures that can end
up anywhere. If you like action and a good adventure then this
is the book for you.

I would give this book a nine out of ten, I loved it!

rebecca from Year 7, Danum Academy:

The main characters are: Lucy who’s fifteen Jem who’s
Lucy’s brother is also fifteen little harry who’s there
baby brother and lastly their dad

It was so easy to be stuck in because at the start it has loads
of description in 10 pages!

If I recommended this book I would to age 10+
Because there’s a lot of big words in that little ones
wouldn’t understand!

Other books I read by frank are: FRAMED.COSMIC AND MILLIONS,/>

Neve from Year 6, Balby Central Primary:

This book was fantastic! It was amazing how every country they
went to had something for the 1966 campervan. Also, all of the
names linked up to the name of the street and engine.

Elizabeth from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

In this book Dad got the sack and got his car taken away. So
Mum bought an old camper van and Dad fixed it by putting in a
spark plug. I liked the part where Jem helped Dad fix up the
van. My facourite character was Lucy, i liked her because it
tells you a lot of info about her, eg she likes black. What I
didn't like is that it says Dad and Mum all the time, not their
names. I would recommend the book because it is interesting to
read. It's a bit hard to get into but when you do it's good.

Chloe-Marie from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I really enjoyed this book because it is interesting and some
of the things in it are funny. It was good because of the
family, they are special and have no control over their own
van. The van has the magical engine of Chitty chitty bang
bang. It is a magical adventure that you can't begin to
imagine.

Katie from Year 6, Montagu Academy:

This is a geography book because it goes all around the world
and it be a great book for people who really love geography
would really love this book.
I think this is a brill book and it is amazing.
It is about a family who want to go all. Over the world one
wants to Egypt one wants to go to Antarctic one Paris.
My favourite place was Paris because all the others I've heard
about before and Paris is the one place I would love to go. But
there was something about that place that made me feel like
part of that family.
The one place I would recommend to be going is the U.S.A
because I have been there and it is awsome. Where would you
recommend to go?

Bailey from Year 8, Ash Hill Academy:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a funny book. The main character is
Lucy. She 15 years old. The family have a magical van and they
have no control over this van. It was a normal story in a
normal street. Then it turns into magic. This book is
extraordinary.

Katie from Year 8, Adwick Park Junior School:

This book is different to the other because it is based on a
family and car with a magic engine. The main thing about this
book is that is you can relate to it because everybody has had
a wacky family moment like this family. Also i like that they
have put pictures in so you see what characters look like and
the car looks like too.

Marks out of 10: 8

Katie from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

This book is different to the other books because it is about a
family and every family can relate to this book because there
has been a moment were one of the family does a silly thing.
Also i like the pictures in the book bcause you can see what
the characters and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang looks like.

Marks out of 10: 8

Jenni from Year 6, Montagu Academy:

times and it made me not really want to read on

I enjoyed reading chitty chitty bang bang flies again because I
enjoyed reading the when they was building the van and when
they went and got the new engine and they were speeding around
the round about and slowing down on the motorway.
I woud rate a 7 and I would probbly be for 9-12.

Niamh from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:

I absolutely loved this book, from start to finish. I think it
is very clever the way Frank Cottrell-Boyce wrote it, where
Chitty takes the Tooting family all around the world, in search
of her lost parts.
My favourite character was definitely Lucy - she is awesome!
You may be thinking: "Oh she says she loves this book then why
did she only rate it eight out of ten?"
The reason why is because I had to re-read some parts of the
story because I didn't really follow it sometimes.
It is very humorous too. There was a few gross pictures of
people kissing when the Tooting mum and dad kiss in Paris.
(Sorry if that was a bit random.)
I recommend this book to anyone that likes a book that is
funny, exciting and just plain AWESOME!!!

this book has a unique twist to the film i love it

Genevieve from Year 6, Barnburgh Primary School:

chitty chitty bang bang is a book i cant really get into. In my
opinion i think its a little boring. Sometimes things are funny
and sometimes they make me want to fall asleep. my favourite
part is when lucy is woken up to find her black goth wall paper
has been replaced with baby blue wall paper covered in daisy.
My favourite charactor is lucy i love her attitute and opinion
on things.

Marks out of 10: 6

Bobby and Ethan from Year 6, Bessacarr Primary School:

This book starts out badly and I started to not like it because
it wasn't amusing to read. The front cover looks good but I
didn't really want to read it after a few pages but I thought I
would anyway. But that didn't pay off although it had a few good
bits.

It is good if you are an adventuruse pe rson and love a good
joke but if you dont, this book is not for you. Its pictures are
good and it has a good ending that is very satisfying and
dramatic.

Marks out of 10: 5

i loved this book i thought it was reallly exciting and i
couldn't put it down! i would loved to be in that family so i
could travel around the world when ever and where ever i
want!!!
