Chloe-Marie from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I really enjoyed reading this book because it was interesting
and had a lot of things happening at the same time. There is a
girl called Lauren and her birth mother takes Lauren and her
two sisters on holiday in the hope that some time together will
make them a family. But a few days into the holiday one of the
sisters disapears under circumstances very similiar to those in
which Lauren was taken two years before. So can Lauren save
her sister and stop the nightmares happening all over again?
This is why I found the book so interesting, you read a couple
of pages and it just wants you to read more of the book to find
out what actually happens.

Athena from Year 8, Hayfield School:

This is the best book I have ever read by far. Every night I
would start reading it and would not be able to put it down. At
school I told my two best friends about it, and they had a big
argument about who was going to read it after me.
Sophie Mckenzie (author) is an inspiration to me now, for her
to be able to write a book like she is the main character.

Lucy from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Lauren went missing two years ago. Now her younger sister gets
kidnapped on a beach while Lauren is buying ice cream. Lauren
actually knows the kidnapper who took Mo and goes through loads
of ordeals to get her sister back. Read it to find out more.

Sister Missing
By Sophie mckenzie

The book sister missing got me interested at first by the way
it was all presented and the title caught my eye. Then when I
read the blurb it made me so interested that I had to read the
book to get the blurb. It was great with all the characters and
the story. But after a few chapters it did get boring so I
stopped reading because there wasn’t anything going on in the
story it was just a load of words.
The book had 250 pages and at the end it had I taste of another
book from that author and now I am even interested on reading
that book too. It was though truly fantastic, it had its ups
and downs in the book but 75% of the book was really really
good. One night I stayed up and read all night because it
caught me so so much and now I am probably going to read the
rest of the book and find out what happened too Lauren, her mum
and her two little sisters.

Abigail from Year 8, Hayfield School:

I gave this book an 10 out of 10 becuase it was really scary,
in fact, too scary. its a great thriller and if you love
thriller stories like me this is the best book that you could
read, or will read I thoroughly suggest reading this book, its
a book you cant miss out on.

Eloise from Year 7, Danum Academy:

Sister,Missing is an amazing book, the suspense is gripping and
the storyline unique. I enjoyed this book although I found the
ending a little predictable. The moral at the end fitted in
perfectly. I don't think you need to read the prequel although
it does give a piece of the setting and characters background.

Jasmine from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Lauren's younger sister Madison is kidnapped on the beach.
Lauren had to go through lots of ordeals to try and get her
back. She discovers the kidnapper is someone she knows. Lots
of secrets are revealed and someone close to Lauren dies.
Madison is eventaully rescued from the kidnappers.

What i liked most about this book is that it is exciting and
frightening at the same time. The story is action packed! My
favourite character was Lauren. She's heroic, brave and has
courage. What i disliked is that there are too many ordeals,
like one minute you save someone and the next minute someone
dies. In some parts of the book it has too much action.

I would recommend this book because it is an exciting and
interesting story with great characters.

Owen from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I think the book is absolutley brilliant. At the end it is
really sad because Shelby died because of the fire. I never
thought that Rick would be a kidnapper. I think the whole book
is full of suprises.

Owen from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I thought Sister Missing is an absolutly brilliant book. There

chelsea k from Year 8, Hayfield School:

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING ,I LOVED IT. lauren goes to the beach
with mo (madison) and mo goes missing thats why it sister
missing because lauren's sister goes missing.

Everything lauren is told she thinks is a lie as she finds out
the truth about her real dad in a shocking way , the truth
about annie's (mum) new boyfriend and the struggles with her
own boyfriend.

Her other sister shelby hates her and just before she dies she
lets out the truth about how she feels about lauren.

She has to go through a lot to get her sister back so she
obviously loves her she even risk's her own life to get her
back.

I would recommend this book to people that like surprises and
to find shocking news.

Maggie from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I loved this book. It's a thriller/ mistery but parts of it are
romantic. Especially when Jem helps Lauren to find Madison and
track down her kidnappers.

Charlotte W from Year 8, Hayfield School:

This book was very good and quite interesting and gripping at
times, and some of the characters were very well thought out
and realistic. I liked some of the exciting scenes in the book,
however there were far too many ordeals and disasters for you
to get really bothered about them. There were a lot of things
that were very exciting but like I said there were too many of
the same thing. This isn't the best dba book I have read but I
did like it a lot, however I really didn't like the ending.

katie-jayne from Year 11, Ash Hill Academy:

From the very start i felt the tension and i would deffinately
call it an 'on the edge' book, A stary thats extremely
gripping, showing a girl who was betrayed by some one much
closer to home.she finnally finds out the truth and now she has
to face it...without her sister.

Katie from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I liked this book a lot because it shows you the true life of a
girl called Lauren, who just lost her dad (Sam) and now her
sister (Madison)is missing. This book is adventurous and
mysterious and shows you a true life.

Marks out of 10: 7

Brooke from Year 7, De Warenne Academy:

This book is amazing. The thing i love about this book is the
title. As soon as you read the first few chapters, you think
the book title is called sister missing because Maddison was
kippnaped. But when you get to the end you realise why its
called sister missing. My favirote charcter was Lauren because
she cared so much about Maddison and Shelby too. I cried at the
end because of how Sophie ended the book. Im saving up for
Missing me and Girl missing.

madison from Year 7, De Warenne Academy:

This book is so good. it is about 2 girls that are twins and
they have lost there father 9 month ago. Also madison has gone
missing when thay went to the beach and her sister got a text
saying that she went with this girl but she want let her go and
if her sister try to find her she will kill her sister. i think
this book is for ages 10-16 years.

The book is about a girl Lauren who's little sister goes
missing on a beach on holiday, just years after she went

is a unpredictable twist in the story that will change all your
thoughts about the story.

Even though it was depressing it had a meaning and i felt like
i was in the book and it was so compelling to read.To show how
much i loved it i read it in four days. WOW!!!! You should read
this book.

from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I liked this book because of the twists in it. I loved the fact
that when Lauren found out that Sam wasnt her birth dad, she
didnt know to be angry or upset. My favourite 3 parts in the
story was when they found the secret place under the beach hut.
When they were stranded on the beach and the tide was coming in
and when they were trapped in the office building trying to
rescue Shelby and there was a fire. My favourite charactor is
Jam because he sounds like my boyfriend. I gave this book a 10
because its an exiting adventure, fun for all the family.

This book it amazing! It is about Lauran and her family. It
starts off with them being in a holiday home because there
mother annie thought it would help lauran, shelby and maddison
after the recant loss of there farther sam. But things go bad
fast, mo and lauran were at the beech and mo went to get some
ice cream lauran kept a carful eye on mo but a lad come up to
her and distracts her and when lauran turns to the ice cream
stall mo is not there, she is not on the way back lauran cant
find her sister any were! but as she starts walking home she
finds.......... you will have to read it to fing out what

Elliemay from Year 7, The Laurel Academy, Mexborough:

How can I start. When i picked the book up, i thought this book
would be too girly for my liking. But the story story was very
gripping to read honestly. I couldn't put the book down its a
real pager turner!!!

The story is about an sixteen year old girl called Lauren, who
was once kidnapped, was given away to be adopted.
Her kidnappers tried to kill Lauren and they left her to drown
on an boat.Lauren then after being fostered found her birth
mother Annie and she went to live with her. And that when the
story starts.

Lauren birth mother let her take her young sister out to the
beach, Lauren then let her sister Madison get an ice cream. But
she goes missing, in the same way as she was. Can Lauren find
her sister? and stop her nightmare happening again!

A really good, gripping story to read. I would recommend this
book to anyone over eleven!!! I gave this book a nine because
its an fantastic book but i could n `t give it an ten because
in some parts i lost interest.

Sister missing is one of the best built books i have read, its
was a book where it messes with your head and you think that
everyone is a suspect, and i liked how they did that!
The characters in the book were very cool,My favourtite
character was lauren because all the things she did in the book
or how she survived the situations i would have never been able
to do that.

I liked the way the book was set out and how very detailed the
book was so it never made you get confused!
I cant wait to read the next book where its in madision's
shoes!

Sister,Missing is a brilliant book. I sat in my room for about
two hours reading Sister,Missing. I think its great that Sophie
McKenzie added so much, (i.e- It wasnt just 'Oh Dear.Problem'
'Problem Solved' Lauren (The main character) had to jump many
hurdles to try and get her sister back from the kidnappers.I
think that it is really, really sad when Madison's dolls are
lined up on her bed, and when Lauren walks in and sees Madisons
favourite doll with untied plaits and a missing shoe (I dont
really know why I mentioned this, I think it was because it was
a part that stuck in my mind..) Anyway, I love this book and
strongly reccomend it :)

Abby from Year 9, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Sister, Missing, is an okay book but it's not really to my
tastes; there is a lot of adventure, which I normally would
love, but in this case I hated it because after the first few
good twists to the story, it just got boring; like "Oh yeah,
they're all dying, AGAIN!", it was too eccentric, there is
4/100 chance that all of the events in the book would ALL
happen, especially considering that one of the characters was
previously kidnapped and then adopted to a different family.
TOO INEVITABLE. But other than this quite important flaw the
book is well-written and descriptive, the characters are
lovable and the ending is really unexpected and sad.

I think this book was a realy good book. I think Sophie
McKenzie has done really well with this book. I like chapter
two when the girl went missing because the main girl when going
to look for her sister asks a lot of people, and thn she found
ice cream's and her teddy laying on the floor. I like that bit
because it a mystery and I like mystery books. I hope you will
read this book and enjoy it like I did.

My opinion on Sophie Mckenzie's sister missing is that it was a
thrill seaking detailed book. It has great a great climax to
when Madison actually vanished because it just seems like an
ordinary day and then all of a sudden bang!she's gone.I have
now read all of them and think this one was the best i hope
this wins.It is quite a sinister book because it has a thing
that could happen in real life in it but you could never
imagine it happening to you. I think it is definetley one of
the best books i have ever read.

This is a scary but thrilling read! (ie. one of those that you
stay up till 1 in the morning reading, finish it, and then lie
awake for hours thinking about it)
Lauren/Martha has a very thrilling past, and she has quite an
adventure sticking her nose into places where it's going to get
punched (or shot. Or knocked out with chloroform. You know, the
usual)
I would recommend this book to people who like adventurous, but
emotional books.

i think this book was 'ok' but i did not enjoy it as much as
the normal book. The reason i dint enjoy it as much was the
fact that it gave me nightmares. The book should be aimed at
older children as this one was too scary for me. Please do not
think im wierd because people in our school said it as well. So
thats why i dont approve of this book in the book awards. So i
gave this book a 4.
