Daisey from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I quite liked this book but found it a bit boring in places,
although I have read it before. I love the descrition all
through the story, it felt like I was there. I would give it a
five out of ten because it is a tiny bit boring but very
descriptive and well written.

Lottie from Year 9, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Stig of the dump was a good book but it was a bit boring in the
middle but overall I enjoyed the book.
The best part of it was about when Stig and Barney became
friends, and Barney gave Stig food because he lives in a dump.
The plot of the book I think is about how two people who are
not really alike become friends. They both live in differant
types of houses, Stig lives with Noone and barney lives in a
house with his sister and grandma but in the end I think it all
came out well.

Owen from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I wouldnt say this book was good but it was alright. At the
beginning it was boring because it was very plain, especially
the bit where it said 'and the ground gave way'. My favourite
character is Stig because he likes to collect loads of objects.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to have a good
adventure.

Peter A from Year 8, Hayfield School:

I read this in year three, and it was ok, But the story is a
bit boring in places. It's about a boy who finds a caveman in
his chalk pit.

Jasmine from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

'Stig of the Dump' is an interesting book about Barney a young
boy who's staying with his Grandma over the holidays. Barney
also has a sister called Lou, who would rather go shopping than
on adventures, unlike Barney. When Barney meets Stig he becomes
his best friend, he lives in the 'Dump' near his Grandma's
house, so Barney often rushes through meals to go and see Stig.

My favourite chapter would be 'The Snargets'. The Snargets are
three brothers who live nearby his Grandma. In this chapter
Barney gets stuck with the Snargets and he can't run away. All
the Snarget brothers have their own ideas on what to do when
the find Barney.

When Barney catches some people sneaking in to his Grandma's
house, he needs to investigate but he can't do it alone, Stig
will have to be a back up plan. Stig was my favourite character
because he is unique. I think Stig is also a really good friend
as well as being kind and helpful. I would recommend this book
for people who like classic reads and I think it's more for
older readers.

Paris from Year 6, Barnburgh Primary School:

Stig of the Dump was quite boring because it was the type of
book what is quite hard to read it is not easy reading like Tom
gates books like Everything is amazing (sort of). That is why I
gave this book 3 out of 10 and another reason why I didn't
enjoy this book because it had really small writing. I
personally recomend this book to people who like reading alot !

Kiely from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I enjoyed this book because its a book I never really thought
of reading it before because it didnt look very good . But its
really a good book. I would recommend this book to EVERYONE any
age . Its really good .

Charlotte from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I think the book is okay, but it is a type of book I am not
keen on. It is about a boy called Ben and he goes to the chalk
pit and he finds a boy called Stig. They call him Stig of the
dump because he lives in a dump. I would recommend this to
anyone that likes books with a edgy feel.
