This book is about a boy who embraces an amazing adventure.
What I liked most was the beginning when the adventure starts.
My favourite character was Billy Bones because he is mysterious
and has a secret. I didn't dislike anything about it. i
would recommend this book if you like mysterious stories.

I think the book was okay. It wasn't as good as i expected. I
disliked that there were a lot of tricky words which I did not
understand. I liked the book because there was a lot going off.
I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes a adventure.

Dylan from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I liked the beginning because it gave a good setting to the
story. My favourite character was Long John Silver because he
was a great pirate and a good leader. I didn't enjoy the book
very much because the paragraphs were long, as were the words.
Although it is hard to read, it's got a great plot and pirate
books are quite popular.

I liked this book because it had some good characters like Long
John Silver. For anyone that likes pirates this is the book for
them.I didn't like it because it had long paragraphs and
chapters, but after a few chapters you start to get into it .

Jasmine from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Treasure Island is a book about pirates who find an island with
buried treasure. On the island is a man called Ben Gunn who
sailed on the Hispaniola and has been stranded there for many
years. Jim Hawkins finds a map and goes with the pirates to
Treasure Island to try and find the hidden treasure.

Ben Gunn is my favourite character because he is different to
most pirates. He is not fierce and scary.

I would recommend this book because it is adventurous and
funny. There is one rhyme in the book that makes me laugh.

This book is about a man who lands on a desert island and has
to look for treasure. I had an illustrated copy and I liked
all the pictures. I would recomend the book if you like
adventure and it is good, but it was a bit too hard for me.

I really liked Treasure Island because I like adventure books.
I liked the chapter The Black Spot. The black spot is about
someone who ge's the black spot and he only has until ten in
the afternoon. My favourite charecter is the Captain because
he tells stories and I really love to hear stories.

Lottie from Year 9, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

My favourite character in the book would be Billy Bones because
he seems to be a funny character to me.
I like how the book is told like somebody else is telling you a
story then you reading it yourself which makes it different to
other books as they are just told like nobody is saying it like
a story.
My favorite thing in the book would be when they go out looking
for the treasure.

This book is about pirates. It starts when a young boy called
Jim Hawkins finds a map to Captain Flint's treasure. Jim and
the pirates go to Treasure Island to find it but along the way
long John Sliver has a plan to keep all of the gold to himself.
This book is a good book, but it wasn't for me.

I found this book excellent but not a all round great. This
book really got me thinking from the heart as if i was the
keeper of the benbow inn i would have walked before i was 5 so
it got me thinking, its a book that needs you to like classics
really.

Brittany from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I would rate this book a 5 out of 10 . I enjoyed this book ,
but I thought it was more for boys about 7 years old that
enjoy a pirate adventure. You could read this book as a
bedtime story or to improve your reading . The main charecters
in this book are Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver, and they are
trying to find buried treasure . In this book there isnt any
tricky or hard words . I think that the effects of the pictures
are amazing they look real. You can see every hair and wrinkles
on their bodies.

This book hooked me into it once I got started but it took me a
while to understand the story. I enjoyed the part of the book
where the pirates arrived on Treasure Island. I liked the 'Yo,
Ho, Ho' rhyme in the book because it's funny and made me laugh.
I recommend this book because it's adventurous, interesting and
builds suspense.

I think this book wasn't the book for me I love reading and
this wasn't as good as I thought it would be so thats why I

like something with smaller writting and a thicker book.

This book I didn't like very much. It gave some clear good
points on what's happening but sometimes it didn't . My
favourite character was long John Silver and some parts were
breathtaking. I think this book is for people with imagination
and who love adventure.

Kiely from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I enjoyed this book. Its about a young boy named Jim Hawkins.
He discovers a map showing the way to captain flints treasure.
He sets sail with Squire Trelawney . I recommend it to older
readers because its written in a very old fashioned way and
quite hard .

I read the graphic novle of Treasur Island and I realy enjoyed
it!
My favorite charicter was Jim Hawkins because he was quite
brave.
The bit that I liked the best was when Jim was searching for
some food and fell into the apple barrle!
This was great and i would recogmend it to others>

Chloe-Marie from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I read a picture version of the story by Chris Mould. THe
illustrations were good but I disliked the fact that there was
hardly any writing in it. My best bit was where they all went
off to look for the treasure. My favourite character was Jim
because he is a really caring and funny character.

Charlie from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I read a version of Treasure Island adapted and illustrated by
Chris Mould. It may look simple but really it is a detailed
book. I liked the character Silver because at first he seemed
to be really kind. I liked the rhyme 'Fifteen men on a dead
man's chest, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum' because it appears
more than once.
I would recommend this book to any age group, even adults
because its a really fun book and not hard for younger children
to read. My rating has to be nine out of ten becuase i really
liked it and its suitable for any age group.
