Owen from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

fizlebert Stump is a brilliant book. I could not put it down
all day. It is a funny story about the circus. Three bearded
people join the circus and Fizlebert thinks they are up to
something so he does some investigating and finds himself in
trouble. At the end, everyone finally believes that Fizz is
right about the barboows. I loved this book and it only took
me a couple of hours to read.

Jasmine from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Fizzlebert Stump is about a boy who loves the circus. All of
his friends are in the circus and then a new family turn up.
But this is no normal family of a Mum, Dad and child because
they all have beards. My favourite character is Fizzlebert
because I like his unique name and funny personality. My
favourite part of this book was when Fizzlebert met the bearded
family because I found it interesting and funny. Overall I
would recommend this book to year 5 pupils and older.

Fizzlebert stump and the bearded boy is a fun and readable
book. It quickly creates an image in your head of what is
happening and what they look like.
It also has a mystery to it and it has an ending that you
wouldn't think of. I would definitley recomend this book as a
book you would like to read for: a laugh, a suprising and
unthinkable ending. Also It is a good book for all ages and
very enjoyable.

kenzie from Year 7, De Warenne Academy:

Fizzlebert stump and the beared boy is a bit stuipid for
example 'They do for much obvios reasons.' Also it moves from
one paragraph straight to another paragraph on a totally
different subject. They also discribe people alot for example
'His beared reached right down to his chest, it was thick and
glinted oily and it was blue!' And it mensions things it
doesn't need to! It talks about the circus but you wounder when
will it get to them doing something in the circus! I would
recomend it to a 7-12 year old.

Neve from Year 5, Balby Street Primary School:

This book is really funny and has some funny named characters.
It takes place in a circus where Fizzlebert and this bearded
family come across each other. What will happen? Iwould
definatley give this book ten out of ten . I liked the bearded
family best beacause they had these long thick beards dangling
from there long chins . It is a funny fantasy book and I would
recommend this book to people who like happy funny books.
Fizzleberts mum is a clown and his dad is a strongman and will
the circus get ruined.

Esha from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:

I would give this amazing book a mark of 10 out of 10 because i
found it absolutely amazing...

I found this book very funny, especially when fizzlebert offers
the bearded boy a sandwhich and when the boy eats it all the
crumbs get stuck in his beard because it is so long. This scene
was also a bit digusting and you would expect it to happen
because the writer tells you that the smallest one out of the
barboozuls has a very long beard!I think this book is a very
suitable type of book to make someone laugh when they are
upset.I really loved this book and I personally think that
others would love it too. I would reccomend this book for the
ages of 7-11. Please read this book!!! Thankyou.

I found this book rather funny. I thought it was a great book.
The book is based around bearded Barboozul family, who are
stars of a new circus which is called FIZZLEBERT STUMP'S. I
won't give too much of the book away so I will stop there.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes funny reads.
Also I would recommend this book to younger (primary school)
and I would recommend it to the years 7&8.

If you`re a fan of A.F Harold, this is the book for you! It`s
packed full of laughter and fun. It all began with a pair of
false teeth or rather, without a pair of false teeth. Their act
is full of magic, mystery, fun and fear. Personally, I
recommend this book to 6 year olds and over. I would also give
this book a rating of 10 out of 10!

Tina from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

This book its all about a boy called Fizzlebert he is bearded.
He also lives in a circus because his mum is a clown. This
book is very funny and I was reading it whilst I was eating my
chocolates and I nearly choked on them that's how funny it was.
I would give this book 10 out of 10 because its funny and I
couldn't wait to finish it. I think this book would be for
about 9 to 14 year olds who like reading.

Adam from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I hope your ready to laugh your socks off, well you have to put
them back on for Fizzlebert Stump! This book is one of the
funniest books Ive read so far, it is recomended for years 9-13
at best and you will never know what the author has up his
sleeves! The book is about a bearded boy(Obviously),who has a
family(Who all have beards) that are in their own circus act
(Because of their beards) But dilema is about to take the
advantege but you can only find out if you read it!
I would give this book a solid 8/10 Due to it sometimes loses
the plot and sometimes goes off the main story, but, the story
line is amazing, the jokes are decent and is one great book to
read!
This book might not be for everyone, but its a funny, hairy,
amzing book

when they are happy.;)

I dont realy like silly books, I like more realistic books or
fantasy books therefore this book was not for me but I
understand why some people would love it if you were into this
kind of thing. I only read up to chapter eight. I wanted to
find out about the teeth over all it is ok. I would recomend
it to anyone who likes its silliness.

Fizzle Bert Stump And The Bearded Boy!

Fizzle Bert stump and the bearded boy is a amazing book it will
blow your mind into little tiny pices the size of a grain of
sand. There's a family of three that are super hairy and look
like a woolly Mammoth are new to the circus and Fizzle Bert is
very suspicious about this new super hairy family that looks
like a woolly mammoth but they can put something in one beard
and it will come out of another beard including
PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so I really appreciate the hard work and
mind he put into this book so I really recommend this book to
year 5/6 thank you hope you liked the review this book was
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christopher from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:

I would rate this superb novel a terrific 10 out of 10 because
it is full of mystery, humour and action-packed!
It is also:"Stuffed with laughs" This book is well written and
links really well which allows the story to flow...

As soon as I opened the book my eyes were drawn to the pages
like glue and therefore I couldn't put the book down! This is a
book where friendships are made, surprises grab you and secrets
are revealed. This book is perfect for when you feel down or
abandoned because you are not alone. With the entertainment of
the book and the company of the author you feel hidden in your
own imaginary world! It is almost as if the author is actually
with you - like he's reading it with you!

I loved this book and I encourage other people to read and love
it too! I would recommend this book for children ages 8-12. You
have to read his book, IT'S EPIC!!!
Thank you.

Ayse from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

There is a boy called Fizzlebert. His mother is a clown and his
father is a strong man. He doesn't have many friends because he
is always talking to his parents and spends lots of time with
them.
the part I liked most was when Fizzlebert was suspicious about
the new super hairy family.
Fizzlebert is my favourite character.
There wasn't any thing that I disliked about the book.
I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes comedy and
funny books, No one's too old for books!!

Marks out of 10: 8

Abby from Year 10, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Although Fizzlebert Stump and the Bearded Boy is an overall
childish and simple story, the style in which it is written
reminds me of Lemony Snicket's work. A F Harrold adds humour
and charm with his narration.

The story joins Fizz's circus as a new bearded act is added and
welcomed warmly to the circus, but before long things go wrong,
clown's noses go missing and bunnies get diarrhoea and the
Ringmaster is pushed to his limits as he tries to keep his
circus together as Inspectors are due to come and judge the
show. Soon, Fizz figures out that these 'coincidences' aren't
really coincidental at all and sets upon figuring out who is
trying to sabotage the show and why.

I'd recommend this book to younger and older reader alike, it's
witty, funny and a wonderful read.
