Megan from Year 6, Balby Central Primary:

I enjoyed the book but it did drag on a bit at the end. But i
would recommend it to people who enjoy action books, i dont
really like them myself as i prefer to read more story book
like: Jacqueline Wilson and Cathy Cassidy.

from Year 13, De Warenne Academy:

I liked the part where it describes the way he walked through
the tilled floor halls.
I disliked the part where it has something to do with a lot to
blow up the ship.
I don't realy have a faverouite character.
I'd say older people should read this book if they have a thing
for mysterys and things like that. 3/10

Brian from Year 6, Balby Street Primary School:

Young Sherlock Holmes is one of the best action-packed books
ever. It starts out with action, just amazing.
The bit that I liked was the beginning, where Sherlock and
Watson got straight into action and trouble.
I would recommend this book to action lovers and mystery book
lovers. I would give this book 10 out of 10.
The bit that I dislike about this book is where there isn't
much explaining between missions or quests. My favourite
character is Sherlock because he always wins.
It starts off in the Diogenes club, in the corridors. No one is
allowed to talk or they'll get a written warning then killed.
Only the strangers' room is where people talk. I would read
this book continuously. You can just feel the action racing
through you. A very good book.

I gave this book a 8 out of 10 because it was odd at the
begining . When you get in to the book you can't put it down
not even for a second . It was a book full of mystery all
through out the book .

Olivia from Year 6, Southfield Primary:

This book grips you from the very beginning and keeps you
exited all the way through. I gave it a 9 because although it
is exiting some places I don't really get I hope that a lot of
people enjoy the book.

Abby from Year 10, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

Snakebite follows a young Sherlock Holmes as he adjusts to life
on the seas. Sherlock wakes to find himself on the Gloria
Scott, a ship sailing to China. He faces many dangers, but the
worst danger of all is a strange man with silver skin that
boards the ship as a passenger, causing many deaths on the way,
and when in, China.

This book was better than I expected, I didn't think that it
would be good at all,but I really enjoyed reading it.

Kidnapped and taken to China,Sherlock is plunged into mystery.
How can three man be killed by the same poisonous snake at the

book is very good. I would recommend this book to any age 9 and
11.

Elizabeth from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:

I enjoyed this book but it dragged on. I wish it spoke a bit
more about his family at home but i wont go into too much
detail....

A good book with a good story line but to me there could be so
much more in this book and that let me down

Marks out of 10: 5

kaitlyn from Year 5, Mallard Primary School:

It is the best book in the world as it has twists and turns in
the plot. It dose drag on a bit at the end but it is full of
mysteries.

This book was better than I expected, I didn't think that it
would be good at all, but I enjoyed reading it. It must have
been a challenge to take on the famous character, but I think
Andrew Lane pulled it off.

My favourite character was Sherlock, as unlike the character he
grows into, he is more compassionate and kinda heroic. It made
me think of what happened in the years between.

Bradley from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

this soon as I would reccomend it to 10+
