Elizabeth from Year 6, Montagu Academy:

This book was heart-warming and on some parts it made me want
to smile and some parts it made me want to cry, like on the bit
where Angels mother was killed by a horrible boy. The things in
the story that were exciting came at the end of a chapter and
it made me interested and it made me keep turning the pages. At
the end of the book I really wanted Kara's mother to return and
she didn't that kind of made me sad. I'd recommend this book to
older readers just because readers under about 6/7 will
probably not understand. I gave it a 9 because it's very
inspiring and descriptive the reason i didn't give it a 10 was
because there could've been a proper ending instead of ending
it like a cliffhanger. It is also the first book I read from
the book awards.

Charlotte from Year 6, Hayfield Lane Primary School:

I loved this book it was amazing every page that I read, it
made me either want to cry or laugh. I don't know what it was
about the book but it made me want to keep reading on and on. I
seemed to fly through the pages. Where as some books that I
read, I take a while to read but this was different and I
finished it in less than a week. The meanest part of the book
that made me want to cry was when Jake and his dad killed and
showed Angel's mum at the market. Who would want to do such a
thing like that. I would DEFINATLEY recommend this book to
anyone. I recommended this book to my best friend and she is
reading it and is loving it. I score this book 10 out of 10
even though it does end up on a cliffhanger of you not finding
out what happens to Kara's missing mum but I still loved it.

Josie from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:

The white dolphin is a sign that mum's out there...Kara thinks.
When they meet Felix and Kara can't stand each other! But when
they know that they discover a baby dolphin (calf) on the beach
they know that they must work together to help save her. Daisy,
Kara's cousin see's her aswell and decides that they should
call her angel because of the Bird Lady...
My favourite character was Kara because she never gave up on
Angel or her mum.
I was disappointed in the end because it didn't have much of an
ending.
I would recommend this book to year 6 or up because it's really
exciting and you can't put it down. It's beautifully told so
you don't get muddled up with the story.
READ IT IT'S EPIC!!!

Shabana from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

In this book, Kara gets told off at school and so runs away and
goes to her Dad on his boat. My favourite charcter is the
dolphin because it is smooth and white and Kara thinks it is a
sign from her mother who has passed away. The thing i disliked
about the book is that it took a while to introduce the dolphin
into the story. I would recommend this book because it is a
good story and well written. It says on the front that it will
inspire and empower anyone who reads it and I agree.

Charlotte from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I enjoyed this book. It is about a girl who's mum disappeared.
Her mum painted some dolphins on the side of the family boat
and one day Kara saw a white dolphin and she said it was a sign
that her mum was out there.
Kara and Felix wasn't best of friends when they met. But when
they found a dolphin on the beach they knew they had to work
together to save the dolphin.
Then Kara and Felix became friends and they tried to protect
the nearby reef and to find the truth about Kara's mothers
disappearance.
Who would have thought that Kara and Felix who become best of
friends.
I would recommened this book to anyone that likes dolphins and
people that don't. And I think this was a great bookIi think
that anyone should read this book.

This book was so emotional, I loved the characters in it,
especially Kara and Daisy, I am so sorry for Karas mum, and I
loved the part when the White Dolphin came in, this book was
really making me cry but at the end it was really happy and I
meant it, its great!

Tina from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I think this book is amazing, I would give it 10/10 because
this is so real life also it is magical and creative because
some people do happen to turn out like that in this book. A
summary about this book is that there was a little girl who dad
owns a boat but the little girl and the dad had to stay at her
aunties cause they did not have a house of the own. Her auntie
was pregnant and could not have them when the baby was born so
the dad had to sell the boat he owned for somewhere to live. I
think this book is for teenagers to 20 years old

from Year 7, De Warenne Academy:

I liked the part where Kara and Felix find an injured dolphin
calf on the beach.

I didn't like it when Kara went looking for her dad and Jake's
dad came looking for her.

My faverouite character is Kara because i can relate to her in
one way or another.

I'd reccomend this book to y5 and over but it depends on what
sort of books you like. 10/10

As soon as i read the blurb i knew i would love it;
unfortunatley it didn't live up to it's expectations. It was
sort of confusing and i had to read the first paragraph a few
times for it to make sense. The plot is about Kara and Felix
who cant stand eachother when they first meat, but after
discovering an injured dolphin on the beach they work together
to save it. I didn't like this book because it dosent mention
the dolphin till around chapter 5 or 6 and it gets a little
boring. I only read upto chapter 9 out of 38 chapters because
it became complicated and even more boring. If i was to
recommend this book i would only reccomend it to 7 and up as i
dont think a younger person would understand it, however all in
all i wouldn't recommend it.

Yagmur from Year 6, Bessacarr Primary School:

White Dolphin is a brilliant story. This is a story of a
dolphin who gets hurt and Kara makes sure she's safe.

Whenever you turnover the pages the tears of your eyes, will
drop on the page like raindrops from the clouds.

This wonderful book will touch your heart and takeaway your
sadness like magic. A beautifully told, nail-biting tale, that
will inspire and empower anyone who reads it.

I would recommend this book 9 and overs. I would rate this book
10 out of 10. You should read it and be in a magical world...

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN SAD HAPPY AND EXCITING BOOK THEN THIS
IS THE BOOK YOU WANT! The dad is funny and the daughter is
caring for the dolphin, I wish the first time they found her
she was fine because when they found the dolphin it was badly
injured and she was washed up on the shore. I felt really
really sorry for the dolphin. I REALLY LOVED THIS AWSOME
EMOTINAL AND EXCITING BOOK, I REALLY WANT TO READ HER OTHER
BOOK CALLED SKY HAWK.

I really enjoyed this book and it didn't take me long to get
into. It is about a girl who longs for her Mum to return home.
Kara gets picked on at school and runs home one day when she
does something wrong. She discovers some dolphins in the sea
one day whilst she is sitting on the beach and this leads to a
lot of adventures.

My favourite character is Kara because she has an imagination
and she believes in herself.

I reccommend this book to year six and up.

In this book there was two girls which didn't get along
together. They both were on the beach and saw a white dolphin.
The dolphin was signing to its mother but the two girls
couldn't understand. They noticed the dolphin had a broken
part in its body so they noticed they had to work together to
save the white dolphin.

The part I mostly liked was when they both worked together and
at the end they were friends after all of that adventure.

The part I didn't like was when the author described how sad
the dolphin felt.

i would recommend this book people who love stories with
animals.
