Chiara from Year 6, Montagu Academy:

I really enjoyed this book it was very interesting. the plot is
that Coraline had another mum and she wanted to sew two buttons
on Coraline .My favourite character is Coraline because she
likes exploring. The bit I liked is when she goes exploring.

Abby from Year 10, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I love Coraline... Well, I love the movie adaptation, but I
must say I'm not too fond of the book. It was slow and hard to
get into. I had higher expectations.

I'm sure lots of people know about the plot, but in case you
don't, here's a slight overview. Coraline and her parents move
into a big house which has some unusual characters living
there, too. Soon after moving all of their possessions in
Coraline finds a hidden door, she unlocks and opens it, but
behind it is just a brick wall. Until that night when Coraline
ends up going through the door and finds an, almost, exact
replica of her home and replicas of her parents, 'cept they
have buttons for eyes and a re clingy in a creepy, murderous
kind of way. Coraline leaves, but soon finds herself forced to
go back as she has to save her parents, some new pals, and
herself from the clutches of the other mother.

The main character was, you guessed it, Coraline. Coraline is
to this story what Batman is to Arkham City. She's the caped
crusade, without the cape.. But, of course, she has some help.

That help is the cat, the cat is my favourite character because
he's witty and has awesome sarcastic remarks hidden up his
sleeve. Even I think he's a cool cat and I hate cats.

So, read it if you want, don't read it if you want. I am
neutral and don't wish to push you in either way (unless the
way is away from the book and towards the movie.)

Charlotte from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

This story is told in the third person which is good because
you can see evrybody's point of view. It is a horror book and
is set in a new house that Coraline has moved into with her
parents. She is exploring and finds a door. When she goes
through she finds another family and it is more exciting with
them. She keeps going there for longer and longer periods and
in the end they try to make her stay forever. It is an
exciting and scary book.

Tamsyn from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I like this book becuse it is about a girl who goes on a
journey into a parallel universe. Coraline Jones moves into a
new house. There she finds a door that leads into another
universe. At first she thinks it is a perfect place, but she
is wrong. The only thing I didn't like about the book was it
took me a while to get into it.

Ellie from Year 6, Balby Central Primary:

This book is amazing it is so enticing to read more it was that
good that some people took over 3 weeks to =read and for me 2
days and a bit. It is so fascinating to read as well as being
interesting it is freaky and weird at the same time. Although
good it does not have a lot of detail but that does not bother
me I would read this book over and over again

Olivia from Year 5, Balby Street Primary School:

This book is about a girl called coraline. She moves into a
flat and there is a room called a drawing room. It has a little
door and in the night she goes to the drawing room and there is
a black shadow. She has another mum and dad who lives behind
the door. I liked this book beacause it was a bit spooky. I'd
recommend this book to people who like scary books.

brick wall.??? But when Coraline opens it her life changes.
Will she escape her Other Mother?

I really enjoyed this book and it really linked to the film. I
found it quite funny when all the characters got her name wrong
and called her Caroline not Coraline. I do not want to spoil
the book for anyone but i found it amazing when Coraline went
in the door. I really recommend this book even if you have not
seen the film.

Coraline is a great book and it did entertain me and I am sure
it would entertani other people out there. I loved it. My
favourite character was Coraline's fake mom with button eyes
because she would care for Coraline and she would scare
Coraline but it was a great book.

Coraline
It's freaky, it's creepy and it's definitely sneaky, so you
better be prepared cos Coraline's coming at ya. chapter one
introduces you to the star of the book; Coraline. The basic
jest of this chapter is that the author wants to intrigue the
reader to read on. but moving on from the chapters, this is one
good book at the moment i rate it 11 out of ten!!!!!!!! So if
you can get your hands on this, get ready to be freaked out!!!

Coraline!
Coraline is an adventure book. Coraline herself loves to be in
the great outdoors, especially now she's in a new house, called
The Pink Palace, with lots of garden to explore. Everything was
great, nothing was realy on her mind, then her life turns for
the worst. Can she save it? Well read coraline- its weird
mysterious and creepy. I rate it 10 out of 10.

This book is really creative and it was amazing because it was
really magical and I could not wait to read the next chapter
after I had read on. I have given this book 10 out 10 becauses
I couldn't wait to finish it and find out what happens. The
book is about a young girl called Coraline and she lives with
her mum and dad. Her mum and dad is always busy so she goes
upstairs and meets these 2 old ladies and they keep getting her
name wrong. There were these objects moving in the dark, she
went though a door which was meant to be a brick wall after it
but there was something magical. Coraline stepped in and she
found that she was in a magical haunted place. I think this
book is suitable for 10 to 15yrs old because its magical and
fun.

I think Coraline is an Amazing because it's mixed with
mystery, suspense & horror.
This girl Coraline , has just moved into her creepy new house.
But this house is no ordinary house. She finds something
weird about this door that's really small, When she first opens
it there's a brick wall covering the side, but at night it
takes her to a whole experience you possibly imagine. I'd
recommend Coraline for people aged 5-40
so read Coraline today and remember vote for it!!!!!!!!!

Coraline is an interesting book and very unique. If you haven't
seen the film then you don't know what to expect, but I have so
I know the plot of the story.
Everything happens when Coraline and her family move house and
she finds a hidden door in the wall. At first behind the door
it is just a brick wall but then it changes and leads to a
parallel universe.
I recommend this book to year 6's and older. I gave this book
8/10 because it took me a while to get into it.

Coraline is a book about a young girl who has just moved into
this massive house The house is so big that it is split up
into apartments. Coraline soon gets bored as she doesn't got
to school yet as its the holidays and she decides to explore.
She finds this door that on the other side is just a brick wall
which probably goes into the other apartment next door but when
she hears something scuttle at night she goes to investigate to
find that there is something beyond the brick wall the is
another universe when she finds her other mother .This story
was an amazing read and I think it was extremely better than
the movie which isn't a surprise .This book tells a fascinating
story beyond the first few chapters which changes your
perspective of the story.I would recommend this to anyone who
enjoys read and people who don't because it is so easy and it
hooks you.Read this book you wont regret it!

Coraline and her family moved to a new house. they didn't own
all of the house. They lived in the middle flat. On the top
flat lived the crazy old man and on the bottom flat lived Miss
Spink and Miss forcible.
The part that I liked most was when Coraline thought the door
led somewhere when it didn't.
Coraline was my favourite character. I liked her because she
was the main character and she had adventures exploring the
house.
The part that I disliked was when Mum didn't let Coraline
outside to play .
I would recommend this book as it has lots of adventures and
exploring. I like adventure stories.
