Adam from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

I had a amazing time reading Percy Jackson. This book had
suspense and action on every chapter. The author used good
descripion on the characters mostly Buster. Everything was
perfect except the length of chapters. Some of them are small
while others are extremely long! There was a sad moment in
there that made me shed a tear.
Really good book, I would recommend it to anyone.

Maggie from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

This is an adventure/fantasy story told in the third person.
It is set in America. Percy Jackson is half god, his father is
Poseidon, god of the sea. He has to travel to the other world.
but there is a traitor! The main characters were Percy, Luck
and Creona. I liked Percy best because it would be pretty cool
to have Poseidon for your Dad. i didn't like Zeus because he
is too quick to judge people. This is a very good book, its an
exciting thriller of an adventure.

This is more of a boys book.

It doesn't make sense at some points, you don't really have a
clue.

It dawdles and waffles, and goes into Rick Roadens own world.

I rate this book a 4 and think improvement can be made:(

Jessica-Lea from Year 9, Ridgewood School:

I read this book back in the last year of Primary School and
from what I can remember, it was a really good book. Perhaps it
wouldn't be at the top of a girls favourite book list as it
wasn't on mine but it isn't just for boys. I enjoyed it as it
was very action packed. So if your a girl then I would
recommend you to try maybe the first few chapters before saying
you don't like it :-)

I would give this book a mark of 9 out of 10 because it was
very mysterious . In my opinion this book is really good
because i really enjoy books like this . This book has a big
chance of getting a good rate and you should read it . It is
very long but once you pick it up you won't be able to put it
down. It actually took me 1 week and 2 days to finish it . I
thoroughly enjoyed it . This book would be better to be read by
the ages from 10-14. Have fun reading this really good book .
Thankyou...

Hi everyone!!

I rated this book as an eight because it was mesmerising and
took no time at all to get into. My favourite character has to
be Percy because he is: funny, kind, heroic and always risks
his life to save others. The plot is great but it was a little
hard to understand in places. I would have rated it as a 10 if
the plot was a little more easy to read, but the book deserves
a chance and the author is a very gifted and talented person.

Thanks.x

Jonathan from Year 5, Montagu Academy:

An amazing story, it's like the modern world has come together
with the Greek gods. It is packed full of ancient Greek
monsters which Percy, the main character, has to defeat before
he can find the stolen lightning bolt.

Daniel from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

After watching the movie I found reading the book much better,
as always the book is much more descriptive of how things were.

The book is about Percy Jackson who is a half god, the son of
Poseidon.

My favourite character has to be Percy because he has a lot of
courage

First of all, can I say this book gripped me like a fishing
hook. It is an amazing book about Percy Jackson, son of
Poseidon, God of the seas figuring out he was a demi-god (half
god half boy) and going on a quest to... wait... I don't want
to ruin the story!

What I liked most about the book is the .. Well the whole book
really!

My favourite character was Grover because he is always there
for Percy and he is hilarious!

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the whole Greek
legends category. I don't know, this book just stands out from
the rest!

Anyway I loved it, Definite 10 (no i'm not just being kind!)
Thanks,
James

Dylan from Year 8, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

An ordinary boy is suddenly thrust into the life of a
half-blood, fighting monsters and learning of his godly
origins. I most liked that this book was about Greek mythology,
monsters and Gods.
My favourite character was Grover because he was very strange
yet humorous.
I did dislike the storyline because I thought it didn't flow
quite right.
I would recommend this book because it's full of action,
weapons and monsters.

Casey from Year 8, Ridgewood School:

The Lightning Thief started it all. It gave us Percy Jackson
(who has lasted for an impressive eight full books, and spanned
two series) and set the stage for the rest of the series, and
the following Heroes Of Olympus series. Even without any of
that, it is still a cracking read. Percy's narration is witty,
the plot is believable and flows well, and the Greek Gods are
brought perfectly into the modern world, ruling from upon
high... in the Empire State Building. Recommended for anyone,
really. 10/10.

This is my third favorite book in the Pery Jackson series and i
was so excited when it was annouced it would be on one of the
lists. This was the first book i read of this list and it is
sill as good as i remebered it. My favoite charachter has to be
Annabeth because she is the only girl in the quest goip and she
is he smartest and I felt sorry for her when she was caught in
that pool of spiders. I recomend this book to pepole who like
Greek myths and legends
