Emily from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:

Mary Poppins arrives at Micheal's, Jane's, Barbara's and John's
house to be their new nanny. She does some pretty weird things,
like sliding UP the banister, going to the zoo in the middle of
the night, they see a ghost when they go christmas shopping. But
she only promises to stay til the wind changes...A fantastic,
magical book thats extremely hard to put down. There is NOTHING
wrong with this book! My favourite character is, of course Mary
Poppins! I liked Mary because she is magical and can do what
she wants to do, like going to different places all in a
minute!

Chloe from Year 7, Don Valley Academy and Performing Arts College:

This is a great book. An advert is put out saying 'Fun Nanny
needed', and the children get a nanny who flies with an
umbrella. She also sings songs and has a magic bag where
things that come out of it are massive. I loved the way it
started it was different from other books. Mary Poppins is my
favourite character as she just came out of no-where and is so
funny and caring. I would recommend this books because it is
very enjoyable and pulled me in straight away from the first
page.

Erin from Year 5, Balby Central Primary:

This book is good but I don't think its as good as the film. My

Emma from Year 6, Montagu Academy:

I didn't really recon much to this book until I got into the
middle of this book. If you haven't read this book yet then
this is a short brief review in my own words.

Its is about a man called Mr Banks and he has trouble looking
after his children so he Highers a nanny to look after the
children whilst he goes to work because the children don't go
to school. The 2 children are called Jane and Michael Banks.
Jane and Michael have a wonderful time with the nanny.

If you haven't read this book then I think you should read
this. My favourite character in the book was Mary Poppins
because she was magical but my worst character was Mr Banks
because he was grumpy.

Esha from Year 6, St Peter's Catholic Primary School:

I have give this book a mark of 6 out of 10 because it is good
but it is a bit boring in some chapters. I would prefer the
film...

The book was really exciting aswel but it isn't as good as the
fim because the fim is thoroughly enjoyable. I think this book
is better for people who believe in myth and legends including
witches, wizards and others. This book is based on a woman
called Mary Poppins who flies around and has a hat on her head
and a bag in her hand. I would reccomend this book for ages
from 9-13 and you should really read it. I liked this book and
it took me 5 days to read it. Thankyou!!!

Chloe from Year 9, Ridgewood School:

OK, I think that I may be a little tooooooo biast with this
book, after all I was Mary Poppins in my year 6 production.
You have got to admit it though, this book, musical, film is
trooly epic! 🆒
Mary Poppins is the main character (obviously), who is
practicly perfect in every way. She can fly with her umbrella,
she can do loads of awesome things like jump into chalk
drawings on the pavement, she is the new nanny at no.17 Cherr
Tree lanebut she can be very serious and would never make a
specktical of herself. Then there is Jane and Michael who are
the typical giggly and cheeky children. Michael been extremely
stubborn and suspicious, and jane been rather enclined to
giggle, doesn't put things away. Oh and I couldn't forget Marys
old friend Bert.
Now I'll better stop here of I'll go on all day 🕛
🕐 🕑 🕒 🕓 🕔 🕕
🕖 🕗 🕘 🕙 🕚 and tell you
the whole story, and then there'll be no point in you reading
this book, and we wouldn't want that would we.... :-D
And don't forget this book is for both boys and girls.🚻

Dennis from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School:

Mary Poppins is a magical book it goes from ordinary to out of
the ordinary!
Books I like are usually ones about history or one with a
mystery to solve, however I've made an acception with this
book.As it is a very magical story full of surreal
occurances. My favourite part was when they found the magic
compass and went round the world.
I rate this book 8 out of 10 because it goes on a bit.

Daniel from Year 6, Balby Central Primary:

This book was awsome!!!! The East Wind chapter, the first
chapter was mysterious and that's when Mary Poppins came! She
took Jane and Michael on great adventures and when the wind
changed she went away, how sad! :(

This book is all about two twins and have been through several
nannies but all of them have left. Mary Poppins is the new
nanny.
I like all of the detail in the book.
Mary Poppins is my favourite character because i think she is
magical.
What I disliked about the book was that at first it seemed a
little boring because it was repeating itself.
I would reccomend this book to 11-16 year olds because there
are lots of different words.
